Southern Classic

Food Group, LLC

Excerpt from 2001 Who's Who in Brundidge Publication

Southern Classic Food Group was formed in January of 2001 by Chuck Caraway and will begin manufacturing of products during the summer of 2001.  Brundidge offers all of the prerequisites for food manufacturing and city officials have worked diligently with us to help put the project together.  We have leased facilities to begin operations, but plan to build new facilities in the near future.  Our product line will initially include a variety of specialty products ranging from vinegar to premium dressing products.

A broad assortment of barbecue sauces, wing sauces, marinades and dressings will be the core of our new company's business.  We will develop a full line of dressings and sauces during the next few months for sale to retail and food service markets.

Although the company is new, our initial employees bring years of experience and a renewed set of positive attitudes into the new venture.  Capital investments for facilities and equipment will occur during 2001 and the first half of 2002.

Brundidge was selected as the site for Southern Classic as a result of the past experiences the management group has had with the city.  In addition, Brundidge offers all of the prerequisites for food manufacturing of this type and the city officials have worked diligently with us to help put the project together.

Along with city officials, local businesses have been most helpful to the start-up of our company.  Southern Classic plans on becoming a good corporate citizen as our neighbors have demonstrated over the past several months.  The most important factor in selecting Brundidge was the availability of an experienced work force due to Pike County's decades of manufacturing plants of similar nature.
