We are Safe Quality Food Level II certified, and take pride in this accomplishment. The Safe Quality Foods Program (SQF) is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is recognized by retailers and food service providers around the world that require a rigorous, credible food safety management system.
It provides assurance that a product, process or service complies with regulatory, international and scientifically proven standards for safety. This high standard allows brand protection which provides customers with a confidence in their product. In addition to its focus on food safety, SQF allows suppliers to demonstrate their excellence in adhering to the highest quality standards of preparation, processing and handling.
The Southern Classic team includes a Quality Assurance department that consists of microbiologists and SQF practitioners who ensure that our products maintain the quality and consistency that we are committed to providing to our customers. Southern Classic also has on staff a Research and Development team who is responsible for not only meeting but exceeding the standards set forth by our customers, or ourselves in the case of developing a new product.
Southern Classic Food Group bottles and packages product in a variety of forms and sizes and distributes to numerous customers, including foodservice, retail, industrial, private labels and exporters. We focused on the manufacturing of mayonnaise, dressings and sauces during our start-up and those products remain as our core business today. Customers vary in size from very small ones up to ones requiring over a quarter of a million pounds per week during peak season. To the right are a few (less than 5%) of the products we manufacture for our customers today.
